Three Year Revised Common Lectionary for use in the Uniting Church in Australia
Lent - Holy Week - Easter - Pentecost
A season of preparation and discipline which begins with Ash Wednesday and concludes at sundown on Holy Saturday. During the forty weekdays and six Sundays in Lent, the church remembers the life and ministry of Jesus and renews its commitment to him in Christian discipleship.
Liturgical colour: purple, except for Good Friday and Holy Saturday no colour is used, since the church is stripped bare at the end of the Maundy Thursday service.
